As a direct benefit to its members, ADO has established a scholarship fund that is designed to enhance the educational development and training of fundraising professionals.  Download the application.

Applicant Eligibility

  • Must be a current member of ADO.
  • Must either live or work in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland or Duchess County.
  • Must have knowledge of fundraising concepts and practices.
  • Must be affiliated with a nonprofit organization as an employee, board member, or volunteer.

Eligible Training Opportunities

  • Paid Internship in a non-profit setting
  • Course work in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit management to further your education, including conferences, seminars, workshops, online trainings, etc.
  • ADO seminars, conferences, and training sessions


December 1
for 1st Qtr. (Jan., Feb., March)

March 1
for 2nd Qtr. (April, May, June)

June 1
for 3rd Qtr. (July, Aug., Sept.)

September 1
for 4th Qtr (Oct., Nov., Dec.)

Additional factors that will be considered when awarding scholarships include the size of organization’s operating budget, size of development budget, staff size, and the number of people served by the organization. A Scholarship Selection Committee will make an impartial determination of scholarship winners. Both the application process and the award will remain confidential.
