    Voices in Development
Peer Conversations for Nonprofit Fundraising Professionals

You’ve shared that a highlight of your ADO experience is connecting with fellow professionals and that you’d like more time for meaningful conversation. That’s why we’ve launched the Voices in Development series. This informal meetup is designed for you to talk with one another in a relaxed open setting. No formal agenda - just an opportunity to network, share ideas, discuss current challenges, and get to know each other.

This upcoming event is an Associate Staff MeetupWe hope you’ll join us or share with a colleague!

Where - The Gedney Room at Sam's of Gedney Way in White Plains.

    W

This is a member-only event, but we are extending the invitation to colleagues of members. So, feel free to forward this to an associate-level development professional on your team and invite them to register online using code ADOfriend26. Attendance is limited to 14 people overall and one person per organization.

Note - If you are, or would like to invite, a potential ADO member in an associate development position to attend as a guest, please reply to this email.

This is a fun one! Join us for a fully interactive session designed to tap into the collective experience in the room. In a three-round format (be prepared to switch seats!), attendees will share the ideas or tactics working best for them right now and have the opportunity to give and get practical advice about current challenges.

Prompts and examples will be available to help spark conversation if needed (maybe new ways to engage board members, how to choose a CRM, or the most creative uses for AI), but the topics are really up to you!

The goal: Attendees will leave with at least one new approach to try this year, fresh perspective on a challenge you’re facing, meaningful connections, and the satisfaction of helping others.

Who should attend: Development professionals at all experience levels and other nonprofit staff/volunteers who participate in or support fundraising efforts.

Want to empower your non-development colleagues, board members, and volunteers to be more powerful advocates for your organization - and for the role development plays in driving mission impact? Join us for this interactive training and discussion.

Our presenters will share how to articulate:

    • why philanthropy matters
    • how smart development builds durable systems that sustain organizations beyond moments of crisis
    • the best ways for stakeholders to communicate with intention and clarity across different audiences

Participants will leave with tools and language you can adapt for conversations, orientations, or trainings within your own organizations.

We encourage board members, volunteers, and non-fundraising staff to attend this event to hear firsthand how you can strengthen impact and support long-term success and sustainability by being informed, confident partners in philanthropy.

Adrienne Vogel - Chief Development Officer, Neighbors Link

Our members say:

“I’m engaging my donors as I like to be engaged: thoughtfully, respectfully, a dash of humor, and building the relationship – and the gifts are coming!”

“I am watching our board and staff move from skepticism about being able to raise money to being engaged and empowered.”

“I was able to get approval on increasing the frequency of an event from every two years to annually, and helped increase online giving by 12% through crowdfunding for a climate change research organization.”

“A fundraising audit prompted the creation of our first annual report…which led to three times the $$$ on our annual appeal. (And we won a design award for the report as well!)”
